I want to thank you all of you who are faithfully praying for me as I train to with New Tribes Mission.  I can hardly believe I’ve been living in another country for more than two months now!  I’m now more than halfway done with my first semester, with only a month to go before I’m home for Christmas!  God is continuing to teach me many things and I am constantly amazed by his faithfulness.

Rebuilding
The last letter I sent mentioned the tornado that went through campus.  It damaged the NTMC Academy, the K-12 school for children of staff and students.  The tornado took roof off and caused some interior water damage.  We have been working to get the academy back up and running ever since.   We have managed to get a new roof on with a steeper pitch than the old one.  With the old roof, in the winter someone would have to climb onto the roof and shovel off the snow.  Otherwise it could collapse under the weight.  With this new roof, it is no longer a problem.

We had to gut most of the interior because of the water damage to the drywall and insulation.  These past few weeks we started the process of re-insulating and drywalling.  Slowly the Academy is coming back together.

Prison Ministry
I have started working with a group of guys from a church in the area.  For 20 years they have worked in the Walkerton Jail, about 30 minutes west of Durham.  The 1st and 4th Sundays of every month they are allowed to hold a church service at the Jail between 3:30 and 4:30 in the afternoon.  All the prisoners who wish to attend are more than welcome!

The jail is a temporary holding facility for prisoners until they are transferred to a more permanent prison.  Because there are people constantly coming in and out it makes it difficult to establish any long term relationships or do any deep teaching.  What the group decided to do was to have a simple gospel presentation every week along with a question and answer time.  The ministry was brought to my attention by a staff member here at the training center.  I’ve had the privilege of accompanying this group to the prison twice now.  I along with three others are planning on getting involved with this group full time.  Please pray for me as I start to get involved in this ministry.

South End Fellowship
I have been attending a local church in Owen Sound, about 30 minutes north of Durham called South End Fellowship Baptist.  The pastor, Mark Lowrey, has given New Tribers incredible freedom to get involved in whatever ways they would like.

I have begun getting involved in the youth group, with the Jr. High and High School kids.  The youth pastor will have me get together with any new kids in order to first get to know them and help get them plugged into the youth group.  There are around 30 kids who regularly attend.

A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to meet with David, who is a new believer in 7th grade.  I had the opportunity to talk about what it truly means to be saved as well as how God views us in Christ.  It was an encouraging time of fellowship with a new believer.

Thank You!
Thank You for your interest in my ministry, your prayers and support greatly encourage me!
